WRITING TIME SNACK SURVEY--RESULTS ARE IN!

YES, last week's Writing Survey results are in! Thanks for your participation & patience awaiting results!
Twenty people, generously, responded to 3 questions about snacking during that all-consuming writing time. Summary results are listed in bar graphs below.
General trends:
  • Question 1--Survey reveals that a majority of respondents do have a snack while writing.
  • Question 2--Coffee is preferred but tea & water are popular as well. Other beverages are also enjoyed.
  • Question 3--fresh fruit was the choice of many.
Comments added further information:
  • Clarification wanted to add more details for #1 response.
  • Morning and afternoon/evening preferences, particularly for beverages.
  • Some missed the survey but would be interested to respond in a future survey!

WRITING TIME--SNACK SURVEY RESULTS QUESTION 3

Now that you see the results of our survey responses from poets, writers, bloggers, I thought I would share some responses that I received from a few writers, here in Canada in the past few months. Six authors generously responded to a query about this topic for a future blog post. Their responses actually inspired me to take this survey. So glad I did!
Here are the responses from the writers I contacted. You can see how they compare with our survey results.

Thanks again to all who participated! A special shout-out to Joanne DeMaio who offered suggestions for survey resource! Have a good week, All!

I'm not surprised about the coffee response, but it's interesting to see the variation in snack foods. I'm not one to eat while writing unless I'm feeling a little lethargic. Then, it's just a cracker or two, usually, sometimes with a little peanut butter :)

Thanks for sharing the results, it's fun glimpsing into the routines of other writers.

Joanne: Same about the coffee! It is interesting to see the similarities & differences as people pursue the muse! Thanks again!

How cool! I love the pairing of goldfish crackers and wine-- I for one am a tea drinker... I wonder what that says about me as a writer :)

It was a fun survey. I like tea too in the afternoon or evening. Not sure about the meaning though.:)
