January sun adds a whole new dimension to the concept of solar energy, it seems to me.

I took this photo of the afternoon sun, so convincing as a source of light but not very reassuring as an element of heat.

Ah well, that's January for you in this hemisphere!

The polar vortex has left a lasting impact on our memory files of winter. Fortunately, hydro has been restored for most, if not all, people. What a scary time.

This severe cold brought to mind the severe cold experienced by Dr. Zhivago as he continued to live and write in the Russian tundra during the revolution. Shivers!

Moving on to a warmer weekend, might catch a movie at the local theatre.
